Key Features

🐑

Washable Wool Fill

Natural wool batting that’s machine washable, no dry cleaning needed. Wool wicks moisture and resists dust mites naturally.

🌡️

Temperature Regulation

Wool breathes. It absorbs up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling damp, keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter.

🛡️

2-in-1 Protector + Pad

Works as both a mattress protector and a comfort pad. Adds a thin cushion layer while shielding against spills and stains.

🌿

GOTS Certified Organic

Organic cotton shell and responsibly sourced wool fill. No polyester, no vinyl, no chemical flame retardants.

Our Experience

Most mattress protectors solve one problem and create another. They block spills but trap heat. You wake up sweaty on a plastic-feeling sheet. The myProtector takes a different approach, wool instead of polyester or vinyl.

After two weeks of sleeping on it, the temperature difference was noticeable. My old waterproof protector made the bed feel stuffy by midnight. This one didn’t. I’m a warm sleeper and I stopped kicking the covers off around 3 AM, which was a regular thing before.

It’s not fully waterproof like a vinyl-backed protector. Sleep & Beyond calls it “water resistant”, wool naturally repels small spills and the tight weave handles most accidents. For full waterproofing, you’d need their separate encasement. But for everyday protection against sweat, skin oils, and minor spills, it works.

Machine washing is a big deal. I tossed it in on gentle cycle with cold water, laid it flat to dry, and it came out fine. No clumping, no shrinking. Most wool products need special care, so this was a relief.

The fitted skirt goes up to 18 inches deep, which covered my 12-inch mattress with room to spare. Stayed put all night, no bunching or corner popping.

Pros & Cons

What We Liked

  • Noticeably cooler than synthetic protectors
  • Machine washable, no special wool care needed
  • Organic materials with no vinyl or chemicals
  • Adds a thin comfort layer on top of mattress protection

Worth Knowing

  • Water resistant, not fully waterproof
  • $149 is premium for a mattress protector
  • Must air dry, no machine drying

Final Verdict

If you sleep hot and hate the plasticky feel of standard mattress protectors, the myProtector is worth the upgrade. It breathes, it washes easily, and it actually makes the bed more comfortable, not just more protected. The price is higher than a basic protector, but the temperature regulation alone justified it for me. Skip it only if you need full waterproofing for heavy spills.
