In Depth Review
Weighted blankets either work for you or they dont. I’m in the “they work” camp, they quiet my brain at night and I fall asleep faster. But most weighted blankets have a problem: they’re hot. Which kind of defeats the purpose if you’re tossing them off at 2am because youre sweating.
The yescool fixes this better than most. The cotton shell makes a big difference compared to polyester or minky fabric blankets. It breathes. Its not going to feel like air conditioning, but I didnt wake up overheated the way I have with other weighted options.
Glass beads are the right choice for fill material. They’re denser than plastic poly pellets, so the blanket doesnt have to be as thick to hit 20 lbs. Thinner blanket means less heat trapping. The beads are distributed across small sewn pockets about 4 inches square, so they stay put and the weight stays even.
At 60 by 80 inches, this is sized for a queen bed but its designed for one person. Weighted blankets should be about 10% of your body weight, so 20 lbs is right for someone around 190 to 210 lbs. They make lighter versions too.
Washing it is straightforward but awkward. At 20 lbs dry, its heavy when wet. Make sure your machine can handle it. Mine is a standard top loader and it managed fine. Drying takes a while on low heat.
One gripe: the stitching along the edges started to show slight wear after about 3 months of regular use. Nothing has ripped, but I can see where the stress points are. At $38, I’m not shocked. Just something to keep an eye on.

Final Verdict
The yescool solves the biggest problem with weighted blankets, heat, by using cotton instead of polyester and glass beads instead of plastic fill. For $38, the build quality is what youd expect but the cooling performance punches above its weight class. If you sleep hot but still want deep pressure therapy, this is one of the better budget picks. Just know the stitching may not hold up forever.
