Brown noise has been all over social media as the “better” sleep sound, deeper and more rumbling than white noise, easier on the ears. I was using a white noise app on my phone but wanted something dedicated that wouldn’t drain my battery or tempt me to scroll at midnight.

This little machine punches way above $20. The brown noise sound specifically is rich and deep, not the thin, hissy playback you get from cheap speakers. It genuinely sounds like a low rumble rather than static. Thats the standout feature and probably why it has over 11,000 reviews.

White noise and fan sounds are solid too. The nature sounds, rain, ocean, birds, are more hit and miss. Rain is pretty good. Ocean has an obvious loop point if you listen closely. Birds sound like birds, cant complain there. You probably wont use all 30 sounds but having options is nice.

Volume range is impressive. Goes from barely audible to loud enough to mask a snoring partner or street noise. 36 volume levels gives you fine control. At max volume theres no distortion which surprised me.

The night light is a fun addition but honestly, I keep it off most nights. If you have kids or just like ambient color in your room its a nice bonus. The warm orange and red settings are the least disruptive to sleep. Avoid blue and bright white before bed obviously.

Timer options: 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, or continuous. I run mine all night on continuous. The memory function means I just press the power button each night and it picks up right where I left off. Small thing but really convenient.

Build quality is plastic and feels like $20. Not flimsy, but not premium either. Powered by USB C which is a nice modern touch. No battery though, its plug in only.
