Key Features

🌡️

Bedroom Climate at a Glance

Big easy-to-read LCD shows temperature and humidity at the same time, with a smiley face icon that tells you instantly if you’re in the comfort zone.

📊

Two Years of Historical Data

The SwitchBot app stores temperature and humidity history so you can correlate sleep quality with bedroom conditions over weeks or months.

🔔

Custom Alerts

Set thresholds, if humidity dips below 35% in winter or temperature climbs above 72° in summer, the app pings you so you can fix it before bed.

🤖

Triggers Other Devices

Paired with a SwitchBot Hub, the Meter Plus can turn on a humidifier, fan, or AC when readings drift out of range. Hands-off bedroom regulation.

Our Experience

We put the Meter Plus on a nightstand for two weeks. The first surprise was that our bedroom was running 73-74 degrees overnight despite the thermostat being set to 68, the upstairs heat trap most older houses have. The historical graph in the SwitchBot app made the problem obvious in a way a single thermostat reading never did.

After dropping the bedroom temp to 65 (sleep researchers’ sweet spot) and adding a small humidifier we triggered via SwitchBot routine, sleep quality scores on our Whoop went up two days later. The Meter Plus isn’t doing anything magical, it’s just giving you the data and the trigger system to fix bedroom climate without thinking about it.

Pros & Cons

What We Liked

  • Big readable display visible from across the room
  • Long historical data range (2 years stored in app)
  • Triggers other SwitchBot devices for automatic climate control
  • AAA batteries last about a year
  • Quiet, no ticking, no beeps

Worth Knowing

  • App-based history requires a Hub for cloud sync
  • Accuracy on humidity drifts slightly in extremely dry conditions
  • Plain plastic build, utilitarian, not stylish

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a SwitchBot Hub?

Not for basic readings, but a Hub unlocks cloud sync, remote access, and the automation triggers that let it control other devices.

What’s the right bedroom climate for sleep?

Most sleep researchers recommend 60-67°F and 40-60% humidity. The Meter Plus makes it easy to see if you’re hitting that.

Can multiple sensors work together?

Yes, the SwitchBot app handles dozens of meters at once, useful for tracking different rooms or zones.

Final Verdict

For under thirty bucks, the SwitchBot Meter Plus is one of the easiest sleep upgrades you can buy. It tells you the truth about your bedroom climate, stores enough history to spot patterns, and (with a Hub) actually fixes problems without your input. If your sleep has been off and you’ve never measured your bedroom, start here.
