Key Features

🌑

Darker room, on schedule

Set the blinds to close at sunset so your bedroom is dim before you ever get into bed.

☀️

Solar charging

The clip on panel tops up the battery from window light, so you rarely think about charging.

🔇

Quiet motor

It runs around 40 dB. Quiet enough that it didnt wake a light sleeper next to us during a morning open.

Gentle wake up

Schedule a slow morning open and let natural light pull you out of sleep instead of an alarm.

Our Experience

Install took us about ten minutes per window. The Blind Tilt clips onto the existing tilt rod of standard horizontal blinds, so you arent replacing anything. If you can tighten a couple of screws, you can fit this.

The sleep angle is where it earns its keep. We set a schedule to fully close the slats at 9pm and crack them open at 6:30am. Walking into a properly dark room every night made a real difference, and the slow morning open is a nicer wake up than a blaring phone. Our south facing bedroom used to bake in early sun, not anymore.

One honest catch. To use Alexa or Google voice control you need a SwitchBot hub, sold separately. On its own the scheduling and app control work fine over Bluetooth, but the hub is basically required if you want it tied into a smart home routine.

Pros & Cons

What We Liked

  • Real darkness on a schedule
  • Solar panel means almost no charging
  • Installs on blinds you already own
  • Quiet enough for a sleeping partner

Worth Knowing

  • Needs a hub for Alexa or Google
  • Only fits blinds with a tilt rod
  • Wont fully block light if your slats dont seal tight

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it work with vertical blinds or roller shades?

No. It only fits horizontal blinds that tilt with a rod or wand. Roller and vertical blinds arent supported.

Do I need the hub?

Only for voice assistants and remote control away from home. Local schedules and app control work over Bluetooth without it.

How often do I charge it?

With the solar panel clipped on a sunny window, rarely. Without it, the battery lasts close to 10 months per charge.

Final Verdict

For 70 bucks, the Blind Tilt is one of the easier sleep upgrades we have tried. A dark bedroom on a timer and a softer morning wake up, all bolted onto blinds you already own. Just budget for the hub if you want it talking to the rest of your smart home.
