Our Experience
We put the CHUN YI topper on a 5 year old medium firm mattress that was starting to feel like sleeping on plywood. After three weeks of daily use, the difference is obvious. The cooling claim is partly true. For the first couple hours of sleep it does feel cooler than plain memory foam. But if youre a hot sleeper expecting it to solve all your night sweating, temper those expectations. By the middle of the night, the gel foam reaches body temp like any other foam does. Its better than standard memory foam for heat, just not magic.
At $70 for a full size, we were skeptical about quality. But the foam density feels solid, not like the thin wispy toppers you get for $30 that compress flat within a month. Three weeks in and there’s no body impression forming yet. The CertiPUR-US certification is a nice bonus since the off gassing smell was mild and gone within about 8 hours.
